We, the Hagn family, have been growing wine for over 300 years. The most important thing is our strong family bond: We always pull together – and it’s worth it: We have had the pleasure of winning numerous awards in a wide variety of competitions. Since 2007 more than 15 of our wines have been awarded prizes in the SALON Austria Wine competition, including one SALON winner. Then there are more than 11 provincial wins and the nomination as Wine Estate of the Year at the Lower Austrian wine awards. In 2016, we were the first and only winery in Austria to receive this award for the fourth time running. As you can see, things are going well for us here in Mailberg!
Leo Hagn jun. and Wolfgang Hagn jun. have been responsible for the wine estate since 2006. In keeping with our family history, they develop the wine estate with consideration for the environment and with the next generations and the future in mind. You can usually find Leo somewhere between the vines and the wine barrels. His wife Elisabeth looks after the online shop orders. Wolfgang attends events and thinks up new marketing strategies. Carina, Wolfgang’s wife, has been taking care of the Hagn Weindomizil home of wine including restaurant and guest rooms since 2009. She also travels the world to make sure people can enjoy Hagn wines everywhere, from Europe to Russia and as far as China.
Wolfgang Sr., Wolfgang’s father, our big boss, keeps a watchful eye on everything: logistics, sales, finance and all work in progress, to make sure everything runs smoothly. You can find his wife Roswitha either in the office with us or at a wine tasting with you in the wine gallery. Leo sen. handed over his position as cellar master to his son-in-law Leo in 2006 – now he keeps an eye on what’s happening on the wine estate. And because he makes personal deliveries, he is also well known among our local customers and always a welcome face. His wife Maria looks after regional wine shops and helps us in the office.
Our long-standing colleagues Birgit, Doris and Vanessa, the office superstars, have been part of the family for a long time!
And last but not least, Emma & Rico, our cheerful welcoming committee.

Organic viticulture centres around the promotion of healthy, fertile soil by advocating responsible soil cultivation methods and plant protection products and strengtheners of natural origin, with the aim of improving the resistance of the vines.
Sustainable Austria: From the harvesting of the grapes through to élevage and bottling, the entire production process is examined and evaluated in relation to its contribution to sustainability.
