We asked our partner, Hagn, what makes their location and wine in Mailberg, Lower Austria, so special.
Wine of Austria:
What is special about your wine-growing region?
Hagn:
The basin-like surroundings in Mailberg with its micro-climate create ideal conditions for winemaking. The different soils of our region provide the vines with valuable nutrients for multiple varieties of wines. In Mailberg wines such as the fruity-light Grüner Veltliner and the full-bodied Blauer Zweigelt will thrive to excellence.
Wine of Austria:
What characterizes your product and what special features does it bring?
Hagn:
High quality is our ongoing goal. We also want our wines to be typical and provide an ongoing drinking pleasure. It is important for us to meet every taste with our wide range and thus to be able to offer every wine lover the right choice. Do you like your wine crisp and fruity, or rich and full-bodied? We have something for everyone!
Wine of Austria:
What is special about your wine production?
Hagn:
We consciously focus on sustainable production and value working in harmony with nature. Less vine stocks per hectare and a careful reduction of yield are critical for our success.
Wine of Austria:
How does your vinification differ?
Hagn:
The intensive care of the grapes before harvesting and the individual touch of our cellar master distinguish our wines. The result is high-quality wines full of fine flavors. This is proved by the numerous national and international awards we have won.
Wine of Austria:
What is your favorite variety?
Hagn:
Of course, the Grüner Veltliner, which we can currently offer in seven different varieties.
