Originally, the current Ettl Winery was a mixed farm. Johanna and Paul Ettl not only grew grapes, but also vegetables and cereals. In the 1980s, their successors, Christa and Paul Ettl, concentrated on winegrowing and began to convert to organic farming.
Since 2006, the next generation has been on board: Michael and Christian Ettl. The two will take over the helm of the traditional Ettl ship in the coming years, with perhaps always new routes and insights.
The motto remains:
We work with nature. Not against it.
And supply wine lovers in all of Austria. And beyond.

According to Austrian Wine Law, the indication ‘suitable for vegans’ or reference to belonging to a relevant association are permitted if no animal products (egg, milk, casein) have been used in production.
Organic viticulture centres around the promotion of healthy, fertile soil by advocating responsible soil cultivation methods and plant protection products and strengtheners of natural origin, with the aim of improving the resistance of the vines.
Sustainable Austria: From the harvesting of the grapes through to élevage and bottling, the entire production process is examined and evaluated in relation to its contribution to sustainability.
